Nowadays, there are so many different types of baby pillows out there. They all have some unique function, and I actually think some of them are legitimate! There are baby pillows that position the head and body of the baby while they are sleeping, there are baby pillows that are specifically designed for nursing, and there are even baby pillows designed to position a baby while they are riding in the car, just to name a few.
I think the bassinette pillows on the market today are great. These types of baby pillows position baby so that he or she is flat on their back, which is what is recommended. However, there are new versions of these types of pillows that I like even better. The new version of this pillow has memory foam which will mold to the shape of babys head, making it mold to the pillow The memory foam will help to prevent a flat area from forming on babys head. This baby pillow will also prevent baby from rolling around, helping to promote a peaceful nights sleep because baby is in the same spot all night.
An additional type of baby pillow that is on the market today is known as a nursing pillow. These baby pillows are shaped like a crescent and are great for all different types of things, not only nursing. While they are a great convenience to the nursing mom, they can also be great for supporting baby and looking at books, feeding with a bottle, or even for extra support when a sibling is holding them. I have found that these pillows have a multitude of uses and should be on every moms wish list, whether they are nursing or not.
Care pillows prop babys head while going on a car trip. They are great to lean on when baby gets tuckered out. I like the fact that they keep babys head away from the plastic on the car seat. Most car seats come with a pillow, but I prefer to purchase a separate one. The ones included with the seat just are not quite as cushy as one that you can pick out yourself.
Baby pillows have so many convenient uses. They can be used for many tasks, from support when feeding to riding in the car. Some are a little expensive, but if you can use them over and over, they will definitely be worth every dime you have spent.
